Callin' all LGBTQIA youth!
My name is Ann John and I just joined the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice team as the dedicated Queer Youth Advocate. I'm excited to be part of this incredible community & kickass team, especially to reinvigorate our Queer Youth Brigade!
Here is a little bit about me: I recently graduated from Vassar where I majored in Political Science and co-founded the College's first club for queer students of color. A born and raised Central Jerseyan, I went to Stuart Country Day School, where I also founded the first safe space for Asian American students so this is sort of a homecoming in many ways.
Now I want to learn about and get to know all of you!
My goal is to create an empowering and collaborative community where everyone's voice is heard and valued.
We welcome family (chosen & biological!), community members, teachers, librarians, & any & all other allies & advocates who want to be a part of our inspirational BRCSJ Queer Youth Brigade~
Young folx workin' at the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice HQ with & for the community on dedicated programming & special events as meaningful as they are fabulous!

Reproductive Rights Storyteller Speak Out
Birth Justice at BRCSJ HQ

Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey & our Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice organized an extraordinary event to change hearts & minds & reduce stigma by talking loudly & proudly about abortion & other reproductive health care experiences.

Each person has their own journey & own story to tell...
A Speak Out is an event where people publicly share their powerful, personal stories about abortion, trans care, reproductive health care access, birth justice, & more to break the silence & stigma surrounding this care & to illustrate the harm of restrictions. Storytelling is a powerful tool because it puts a face & voice to the issues we fight for, humanizes policies & legislation, & motivates our communities to take action to protect & defend our rights.

great gratitude to all who shared their stories
& those who came out in support of those who did
