Phil Jimenez
One of the first & most prominent gay creators in mainstream comics (Entertainment Weekly, the Advocate, & OUT magazine/Out 100 alum), Phil is an Inkpot, Diamond, & Wizard award-winning writer & artist, & has worked for DC & Marvel & a veritable plethora of other comic book companies for over 30 years. Best known for his work on Wonder Woman, JLA/Titans, New-X-Men, Infinite Crisis, Amazing Spider-Man, The Transformers, & his creator owned project, Otherworld, & is currently drawing Historia, the Black Label graphic novel written by Kelly Sue DeConnick for DC Comics. He also works in film, television, traditional print media, & design/packaging for toy companies as well as creatin’ large-scale artworks for public spaces, schools, & museums in New York & Chicago; lecturin’ at universities, museums, & the Library of Congress on identity & diversity in entertainment; mentorin’ young designers at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum; & teachin’ at the School of Visual Arts
