Social Justice Power Hour
Gay People Princeton Documentary Film
Filmmaker & founding member of Gay People Princeton Frank Mahood & our Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice proudly present as part of our PRIDE MONTH celebration this moving documentary tracing the remarkable history of Gay People Princeton, the community's first gay rights organization.
Founded in 1972 by undergraduates, the Gay Alliance of Princeton gathered together Princeton University students, workers & faculty, local townsfolk, and greater community members to come out & declare their identity. After two years, Gay People Princeton, a separate organization for the community, emerged out of it, forging a way for the future.
This film also spotlights the multifaceted archive at BRCSJ HQ devoted to Gay People Princeton to ensure their history is never forgotten.
Our past informs our present & inspires our future!
Frank & our own BRCSJ Chief Activist Robt Seda-Schreiber will be in the comments section as the film rolls to engage viewers in virtual community-buildin' conversation equally empowerin' & entertainin'
