Dr. Blain is an award-winning historian of the 20th century United States with broad interests & specializations in African American History, the modern African Diaspora, & Women’s & Gender Studies. She is Associate Professor of History at the University of Pittsburgh, President of the African American Intellectual History Society & as well as currently a fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University. Keisha is also a columnist for MSNBC, covering race, gender, & politics in historical and contemporary perspectives & has published extensively on race, gender, & politics in both national & global perspectives. She is the author & editor of numerous books, all equally extraordinary, including the multi-prize-winning book “Set the World on Fire: Black Nationalist Women and the Global Struggle for Freedom” & her most recent, “Until I Am Free: Fannie Lou Hamer's Enduring Message to America”.
